During the ‘Fire safety of Building Façades’ session at the S2B Conference, Octavian Lalu, senior scientist at BRE, presented a review of large-scale fire testing using BS 8414.

His presentation highlighted the importance of these tests in the assessment of facades, especially in the aftermath of the Grenfell fire in the UK. 

Thanks to his presentation, we better understood the need for rigorous prevention measures in buildings.
